Job Description:

The Agriculture Extension Officer will play a vital role in promoting sustainable agricultural practices under the Agriculture and farm projects The officer will work with farmers, agricultural institutions, and local communities to implement eco-friendly farming techniques, increase productivity, and enhance soil health. The role will also involve spreading awareness of modern agricultural technologies and supporting the overall development of rural agriculture in various states.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to farmers regarding sustainable farming practices.
  • Organize training sessions, workshops, and awareness programs for the farming community.
  • Monitor the progress of agricultural projects under the Agriculture and farm projects.
  • Work closely with Village Supervisors, Block Managers, and other officials to ensure the successful implementation of agricultural schemes.
  • Facilitate the distribution of resources such as seeds, fertilizers, and equipment.
  • Conduct soil tests and recommend appropriate crop and soil management practices.
  • Promote organic farming and the use of eco-friendly inputs.
  • Submit regular reports on the progress and challenges of agricultural activities.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Fresher’s are welcome to apply. Prior experience in agricultural extension services, farming, or related sectors will be considered an advantage.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, knowledge of modern farming techniques, and the ability to work with rural communities.

Salary:

  • For freshers: 25,000 - 30,000 per month.
  • For Experienced Candidates: 30,000 - 40,000 per month (depending on experience and qualifications).

Job Selection Process:

  1. Online Exam: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in an online examination that assesses their knowledge of agriculture and rural development.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview to assess their suitability for the role.

Work Environment:

  • This role will require fieldwork in rural areas across different states of India. Candidates must be willing to travel and work in rural and semi-urban locations.
